Agriculture, Livestock Economy, Women Welfare & Mukhyamantri Ayushman Arogya (MAAY)
In Rajasthan's arid and semi-arid landscape, agriculture and social security function as inseparable life-support systems. Because crop farming is vulnerable to erratic monsoon spells, the livestock economy, agro-food value chains, women-centric direct support, and comprehensive health protection serve as the bedrock of rural resilience.
1. Agriculture & Livestock: The Climate-Resilient Backbone
•Sectoral Economic Output: Agriculture and allied activities generated ₹4.41 lakh crore at current prices in 2025–26, accounting for 25.74% of GSVA (expanding at an 8.1% CAGR).
•The Livestock Dimension (Crucial Mains Factor):
•In dryland western Rajasthan, livestock (dairy cows, Marwari/Jaisalmeri sheep, Sirohi/Marwari goats, camels) provides steady drought-proof milk, wool, and meat income when crops fail.
•Rajasthan leads India in wool production and ranks second nationally in milk production.
•State programs focus on indigenous breed pedigree improvement (Tharparkar, Rathi, Gir), breed conservation centers, sexed semen adoption, and community fodder reserves.
•Agro-Food Processing Projects (Dec 2025 Baseline):
•PMKSY (Pradhan Mantri Kisan SAMPADA Yojana): 54 projects approved with approved central grants of approximately ₹294.01 crore.
•Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for Food Processing: 6 manufacturing locations with committed investment of ₹244.82 crore (spices, milk powders, guar gum, ready-to-eat products).
2. Women-Centric Empowerment & Social Schemes
1. Mukhyamantri Work From Home / Job Work Yojana
•Target & Purpose: Empowers educated women and homemakers to earn livelihood from home in digital services, tutoring, accounting, GST filing, telemedicine consultation, textiles, and jewellery assembling.

•By October 2026: Expanded past 56,000 listed opportunities and 8,000+ active beneficiaries.
2. Mukhyamantri Rasoi Gas Subsidy Scheme
•Direct Consumer Price: Provides domestic LPG cylinders at ₹450 to eligible Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) and National Food Security Act (NFSA) families.
•Progress (2025–26 up to Dec 2025): Transferred ₹487.86 crore in direct subsidy across 2.18 crore cylinder refills, drastically curbing indoor biomass smoke pollution.
3. Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojana
•Benefit Matrix for BPL SC/ST/Minority Families:
•Base marriage assistance: ₹31,000.
•Incentive if bride has cleared 10th standard: Additional ₹10,000 (Total ₹41,000).

•Non-SC/ST BPL families receive ₹21,000 base assistance plus education incentives.
•Execution: Provided ₹33.86 crore to 7,269 girls in 2025–26 up to December.
3. Universal Health Coverage: Mukhyamantri Ayushman Arogya Yojana (MAAY)
Replacing the earlier Chiranjeevi branding, the Mukhyamantri Ayushman Arogya Yojana (MAAY) represents the state's comprehensive healthcare umbrella:
•Coverage Limit: Up to ₹25 lakh annual cashless hospitalization cover per family across empaneled public and private hospitals.
•Accidental Insurance: Includes a ₹5 lakh accidental insurance benefit.
•Package Basket: Covers over 1,800 secondary and tertiary medical packages (oncology, cardiology, organ transplants, joint replacements).
4. Affirmative Entrepreneurship & Education
•Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar Rajasthan Dalit Adiwasi Udhyam Protsahan Yojana: Notified under the state's Aadhaar-linked framework in January 2026, transitioning affirmative action from welfare doles to asset creation, interest subvention on bank loans, and public procurement quotas for SC/ST industrialists.
•Savitri Bai Phule Study Centres: Established across all district public libraries, providing free competitive-exam study carrels, digital test series, and mentorship for rural youth.
